This is a kabuki theater situated in about 10 minute walk from Uchiko station. From the beginning in 1916 (5th year of Taisho Era) this wooden 2-story building was founded to celebrate enthronement of Emperor Taisho. Due to aging the problem of destruction existed but thanks to enthusiasm of local people the building was repaired. In 1985 (60th year of Showa Era) restoration works were completed, and the site started a new life as a playhouse. Today it is used by neighborhood association as a base for cultural and artistic activities as well as a place of actual kabuki plays.
