Lions inherited in various places throughout Okinawa on most recent Sunday on September 15 in the old calendar in average year gather in a hall. Various lion dance performers expel demon, and they show dance in hope of staple grains abundant harvest at rare place called bullring! Gushikawa, Uruma-shi district of the Okinawa Island central part has lion mountain with legend that lion lived in in old days, and lion dance seems to be the saved ground related to lion dance in seven characters. ※As for the lion dance of Okinawa, the whole body is covered to hair unlike lion dance of the mainland.
