Ungami in Intangible Folk Cultural Property designated by Japan in 1997 Shioya Bay (Ogimison・Shioya) is an event carried out every year on the beginning of Bon Festival of the lunar calendar on the day of the Boar in Shioya Bay as a pray for bumper year. Festival of year of good harvest is also carried out once in 2 years. Ungami started in villages of the northern area, and although changes occurred throughout the time, old traditional form is still left and the event is conducted prosperously.
