Every year on the 4th day of the 5th month of lunar calendar ("yukkanuhi" day) a boat race on Okinawan dragon boats (called "hari") is being held. This annual event is being held in devotion for sea safety and abundant fishing. On a fishing boat ("sabani") rowers participate in the race coordinating movement of paddles. In addition to the race performed by local fisherman, regatta of work related persons and "hari" riding interactive experience is provided for children.
