Welcome to Tsukijima, the Nearest Island from Mainland Okinawa
Tsukijima, a remote island in Okinawa, is often referred to as "Carrot Island" due to approximately 60% of the island being covered in carrot fields. It is a small island located about 5 km southeast of Yohka Peninsula, stretching approximately 25 km north to south and 15 km east to west.
With easy access from mainland Okinawa, you can reach Tsukijima in just about 15 minutes by high-speed boat from Hirayashiki Port, close to the tip of Yohka Peninsula. If you prefer to take a ferry, it takes approximately 30 minutes. You don't have to worry about long sea voyages and seasickness since the travel time is relatively short.
