"Shima" originally means "a small landmass surrounded by water," but it also refers to "a specific local region."
This program features singers who draw from traditional folk songs and create their own unique musical world rooted in local culture.
With guidance by Peter Barakan, this performance invites both Japanese and international audiences to enjoy the traditions and contemporary songs of various regions.
