The Okukubi River has been selected by Japan's Ministry of the Environment as one of the “500 Important Wetlands in Japan.” Four species of mangroves grow across a wide area stretching approximately 950 meters.
As you paddle, your guide will provide interesting explanations while you observe the remarkable biodiversity and ecosystem up close. The river is very calm, making this kayak tour suitable for children from 3 years old. Even first-time kayakers and senior participants can enjoy the tour comfortably.
Okinawa's tropical islands enter the seasons of “Urizun” and the rainy season, when abundant rainfall nourishes the islands. This “season of rain” is essential to the subtropical environment that has shaped Okinawa's unique culture and cuisine.
Mudskippers and fiddler crabs, which were less active during the cooler months, become increasingly lively, while the calls of the Ryukyu ruddy kingfisher echo through the mangrove forest.
Come and enjoy the nature of these southern islands, including the rain. It is a refreshing experience for both body and mind!
Toward the end of the tour, you will leave the mangrove forest and paddle out into the open sea before landing on a local beach not found in ordinary tourist guidebooks. After taking a break with a snack, you can search for seashells, encounter adorable land hermit crabs designated as a Natural Monument, spot horn-eyed ghost crabs, or enjoy swimming in the sea.
Please note that depending on the wind direction and strength on the day, it may not be possible to land on the beach.

- For safety reasons, all participants are required to wear a life jacket.
