Kumiodori Performance – “Koko no Maki”
This performance presents “Koko no Maki,” one of the representative works from the “Chokun Five Plays” created by Tamagusuku Chokun, the founder of Kumiodori.
Centered on the theme of family love, this work is especially popular for its emotional scenes unique to Kumiodori, including the dialogue between siblings and the reunion between parent and child.
This production features both designated traditional performers and younger successors of the art form.
In the first part of the program, accomplished mid-career Ryukyu dancers will present classical dance, Zo-odori folk dance, solo performances, and group dances.
Please enjoy the beauty of traditional Okinawan performing arts.
